Tenure-Track Positions (Designated Associate/Assistant Professors) in 
All Fields of the Natural Sciences

1. Number of Positions: 15
2. Research Fields: All fields in the Natural Sciences
3. Qualifications:
      (1) Candidates should hold PhD degrees, granted within the past 10
years (as of November 1, 2006).
      (2) No restrictions on candidates' nationalities.
4. Duration of Appointment: November 1, 2006 - March 31, 2011 
(employment contracts will be renewed annually during the period of 
appointment)
5. Terms of Employment:
      (1) A mid-term evaluation will be conducted during financial 
year 2008, the results of which will determine whether the appointees 
can continue in the tenure-track positions. A final evaluation will 
be conducted at the end of the term, the results of which will 
determine whether the appointees will be granted tenured positions at 
the graduate schools/other organizations from which they receive 
recommendations.
      (2) The appointees may be expected to each and advise students 
in their areas of expertise at the graduate schools/other 
organizations from which they receive recommendations.
6. Status/Job Title: Full-time employees with fixed terms (designated 
Associate Professors/Assistant Professors of Nagoya University)
7. Salary: Annual salary system (as stipulated in the Regulation on 
Pay Schedules for Employees Receiving Annual Salary at Nagoya 
University)
