Climate Change Science Program - Global Change Program Specialist III

The Climate Change Science Program (CCSP) coordinates research on climate and global environmental change conducted by 13 Federal agencies/departments. A coordination office monitors workflow on behalf of the agencies/departments that comprise CCSP. The CCSP Office seeks an individual to support two of the program's research elements: Global Water Cycle (GWC) and Human Contributions and Responses (HCR). GWC addresses the role the water cycle plays in climate variability, climate change, and the influence climate has on aspects of the global water cycle. HCR includes studies of potential technological, social, economic, and cultural drivers of global change, and how these and other aspects of human systems may affect adaptation and the consequences of change for society. The individual will facilitate interagency planning; help draft and review assessments of the potential impacts of climate change; manage workshops/symposia in support of these activities; and communicate scientific information to policy officials, stakeholders, and the public, in both print and digital formats. The individual fulfills a secretariat role, including web content development, maintenance of web-based files, and meeting logistics to meet the GWC and HCR goals outlined in the CCSP Strategic Plan.
